Waffle Flowers’ February Release Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Waffle Flower February Release Blog Hop! I’m happy to be hopping with the folks from Waffle Flower to show you all the fun new stuff awaiting you on the Waffle Flower website! Be sure to check out each stop in today’s blog hop for fun, inspiration, and chances to win some of these new-release goodies!

I reply to every comment left on my posts, so if you have any questions, I’d be happy to answer. I’ve got a couple of cards today, so let’s get going!

With the first one here I used the new Layered Crocus die. I die-cut out the separate elements, left them in place (the paper they were cut from, like a jig) put some post-it tape on the back to hold them there, and used my ink brush to color them in purples and some dark blue for the tips of the petals. Once the flowers were made I set them aside and used the Tiny Heart Stencil with texture paste on yellow cardstock for a backing panel. With a design that is this small and delicate, I don’t recommend using any paste or gels that are too loose or watery, or you won’t see hearts, you’ll see little blobs. Ranger’s texture paste was just stiff enough. I let that panel dry for a full day, but I don’t think it needed that long.

I thought some white cardstock with more texture paste and glitter added while the paste was still damp (cut into landscape shaped strips) would look like snow. Do you think? And I used Waffle Flowers new Happy Easter Duo stamp and die sets for the sentiment. I used foam tape to keep the flowers up off of their backing panel of blue. I added some clear confetti and was done!

My next card features the sweet Daisy Pattern Stencil Quad, and the Mini Eggs die! First, I used the four-stencil set on some cream cardstock. I grabbed some of my Pinkfresh ink pads: soft reds, blues, pale pink and the two lightest shades of brown. I used a black pen to dot the center of those pale pink flowers then set that panel aside.

For those fun speckled eggs, I used the Mini Eggs die to die-cut out some egg shapes then I picked an old finger dauber and used it with some Distress Oxide Vintage Photo. I dabbed at the egg shapes with the spongy dauber and they look so charmingly speckled! I backed them with Kraft cardstock and used some gold specialty paper for the die cut designs on the front of them. I used a die included with the Bunny Ears die set for the bow.

Before I adhered the Daisy stenciled panel down to the pale pink cardbase I cut it down a bit, wrapped a couple of different lengths of ribbon around it, then popped it up with some thin fun foam. I adhered the eggs and stuck another Waffle Flower bow in between them, from their Layered Ornament die set. Then I stamped, clear embossed (for some shine), and die cut out another Happy Easter sentiment and used tiny pieces of foam tape to adhere it to my card. I added some of Pinkfresh’s Blush Glitter Drops as well as their Matte Gold Metallic Pearls. And I was done!

Thank you so much for coming by today! Next on the hop is Channin Pelletier! To see the whole line up here is a link back to Waffle Flower!
